The property on which The Coffee Cup is
located dates back to 1823 when much of the area now known as
Perry, Georgia was being converted from Indian Territory into a
settlement. Many businesses have occupied this building over the
years. Starting in the 1850’s it was a drug store as it remained
for many years. It has served as a doctor’s office, The Houston
County Library and during World War II as the local draft board.
The original Coffee Cup Restaurant existed here from the late
1950’s through the 1970’s. In the mid 2000’s a fire damaged much
of the building. The beautiful ceramic tile mosaic floors, the
brick walls, and the first and second floor frames are still
